Somali representatives commit to coordinating and supporting use and dissemination of information from Health and Demographic Survey and future surveys
High-level representatives from the Federal Government of Somalia and Federal Member States signed an agreement on 5 March committing to coordinate and support the use and dissemination of information from the Somali Health and Demographic Survey (SHDS) and future surveys.
The agreement was reached as Somalia is getting ready to launch results of the SHDS which was carried out with support from UNFPA Somalia and key partners, including donors.
In February 2020, the Ministry of Health and Human Services awarded UNFPA with a certificate of appreciation for its support in undertaking the monumental SHDS. Findings from this survey, which has already been recognized as a game-changer for Somalis, will be shared in the near future.
